I am a graduate of the University of Oregon and George Fox University. I hold a Master in Teaching in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education, and also have an ESOL endorsement. I have had a variety of experiences as an educator, including working with special needs and ESL students and tutoring elementary schoolers in reading, math, and spelling. I'm capable of tutoring students of all ages in algebra, math, biology, reading, writing, literature, earth and environmental sciences, history, and geography. I can also help students in IB Social and Cultural Anthropology SL.I'm a committed, passionate tutor. I know the many elements a tutor must take into consideration when beginning work with a new student. As a tutor, I am continually considering the student's goals, skill level, preferred learning style, and background. This helps me fine-tune my approach and create a tutoring plan that meets each student's needs. When I teach, I like to use many different methods to reach students, including hands-on activities, direct instruction, and modeling. Finding the right approach to learning for each student is crucial to achieving academic success. Tutoring keeps me on my toes, and I enjoy the challenge!In my spare time, I enjoy walking my dog, seeing movies, and spending time with my family.
